About

Saginaw, by choice.

Saginaw native. Founder. I build companies and community organizations in the Great Lakes Bay region, and I write about how it is going.

I am Childress Cannon, and Saginaw is home. I grew up here, then spent a good stretch of my life somewhere else: running track, studying Chinese and Economics on the other side of the world in Brisbane, and working in tech and sales in cities like Atlanta.

Every one of those places taught me something. None of them made me want to stop thinking about Saginaw. So I came back with a simple goal, to build things here that people actually use.

Chil_Space

Chil_Space is where that started. It is a room inside Fashion Square Mall that families, groups and businesses book for receptions, graduations, birthdays, meetings and seminars, and set up however they like. It opened in fall 2025, settled into the mall in February 2026, and on weekdays it doubles as Chil_Space Network, a membership space for working, recording and shooting content.

Central Connect

Central Connect is my technology company. We design 3D interactive websites and build AI automation and AI agents for clients all over the country. It runs as its own business, separate from everything else here.

C.A.R.E.

C.A.R.E. is the medical device company I started with my sister, Brittnie Cannon, and Dr. Diana Cabrera-Fernandez. The legal name is Cannon-Cabrera Adaptive Reading Equipment LLC. Our product, the C.A.R.E. Cuff, is an adjustable blood pressure cuff built around a child's arm, and this year we tested the idea with care teams through University of Michigan I-Corps and I-Corps Boost. It is still in development and not for sale.

The nonprofits

I also helped found two nonprofits. The Sagana Foundation began under the name Abound. The Reset Project is still being formed, around giving youth and adults a fresh start and a new way of thinking.
